The relationships that us hoomans have managed to form with animal kind are truly impressive. Whether it be JAne Goodall with her gorillas, Steve Irwin with his crocodiles, or even your local horse whisperer, there is no denying that the way we relate to the animals around us is impressive and complex. Which is very much what this tiktok video has managed to capture. The relationship between a man and a hedgehog who needed help.

Now sure, you cannot go comparing hedgehogs to gorillas, nor their relative impact upon the world. But in a world that lacks so much empathy, you would hope to see even just a smidgen of it somewhere to reignite your hope in hoomanity. And for us that empathy is very much present in this video. After all, it tells the tale of a man who took pity on a struggling hedgehog. He knew the critter only wanted to get about his daily life, and thought to himself how painful and annoying it would be to be in the hedgehog's position. This led him to building the first set of stairs. A well intentioned attempt to help his hedgy friend out.

But as often happens with first attempts something went wrong, and before long the cute critter was struggling to stay stable on the smol stairs that had been built for him. But without the words to tell the hooman what he needed he had to wait and hope this hooman would see what was needed. And that is where we meet this story today. With the man's second attempt to build this critter a stress and strain reducing pathway.
